Attorney Dana Miles, a founding partner of Miles Patterson Hansford Tallant, LLC, has practiced law in Forsyth and Dawson counties for over 25 years. He specializes in general corporate and business litigation with a significant emphasis on local government law as he serves as City Attorney for both Cumming and Dawsonville.
Attorney Miles is active in the local community and recently served as Chairman of the Forsyth County Zoning Board of Appeals. He is a past President of the Forsyth County Rotary Club, the Blue Ridge Bar Association and the Forsyth County Bar Association.
Throughout his career, Miles has been extensively involved in the Georgia Bar Association, serving on the Executive Committee, as Treasurer, and as President of the Young Lawyers Section, serving as Chair of the Professionalism Committee, serving as a Member of the Disciplinary Review Panel and the Disciplinary Investigative Panel and serving on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Miles has served as the Circuit Vice-President of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the President and Chairman of the Board of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the founding class of Leadership Forsyth. Miles has also served on the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission, and the Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Miles received a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University in 1977 and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1980. He has served the Law School Alumni Council at the University of Georgia in the offices of President, Secretary, Treasurer and District Representative.
Attorney Dana Miles has two sons, Britt and Trent, and a step-son, Justin. He lives with his wife, Mary Ann, in Dawsonville where they are active in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
